+ Public School Liaison

Start date : July 1st, 2024

We are seeking a dynamic individual to build and maintain relationships and run team meetings with districts in MA and NH who fund students to attend WWS. This person would get to know each student through their time here on campus and would help teachers develop appropriate academic and social goals for our students.

Windham Woods School is home to approximately 190 exceptional students with mild to moderate learning challenges. We boast a state-of-the-art facility and 250 acres of fields, woods, and trails, providing a unique environment for hands-on, project-based learning. Our students engage in a curriculum that emphasizes real-world application and experiential learning. There are two public school liaisons on campus and this posting is specific to our middle and upper students.

The ideal candidate should have a knack for organization, possess a solutions-based, positive work ethic, and have extensive experience working in the field of special education. + Middle School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker

We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker to join our middle school team at Windham Woods’ programs. The School Counselor will work closely with students, families, and faculty to provide counseling services and support to promote the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students. The School Counselor should be experienced and comfortable with supporting the needs of students with learning differences, with an understanding of the intersection of social-emotional needs and learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students with learning differences
  • Identify student needs and develop individualized plans and interventions for academic and social success
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure student progress and success
  • Develop and implement programs to address student behavioral and emotional challenges
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives to promote a positive school culture and climate
  • Attend professional development and training opportunities as required

Additional Requirements

  • Licensure: School Counselor, School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor, or equivalent mental health professional license
  • Master's degree (M.Ed., M.S.W., Mental Health Counseling) required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a school setting, experience working in a special education setting with students with learning differences is preferred

+ Middle School Reading & Literature Teacher

Can you crush Shakespeare, Steinbeck, and John Green while riffing similies and metaphors in your sleep? Can you help students unlock the reading code by studying spelling patterns like the doubling rule or Latin endings? Join our team. The job consists of small group reading classes working primarily on reading and literature skills (reading comprehension, figurative language, vocabulary, main idea, point of view) - combined with small group reading classes focusing more on fundamentals with decoding, fluency, spelling, and comprehension. Our educational program incorporates the outdoors on a daily basis so students can truly experience hands-on learning.

+ Speech and Language Pathologist

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated SLP for this school year. The position will include collaborating with staff and administration as we provide diagnostic and intervention services for students with speech, language, and hearing disorders. Candidates need to be skilled and comfortable working in a team environment and driven to meet the needs of our students.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Therapy from an accredited program
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Therapist
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting

Are you passionate about empowering young minds and helping children reach their full potential? Windham Woods School is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team and make a difference in the lives of elementary and middle school students.

Position Overview: As an Occupational Therapist at Windham Woods School, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic success and overall well-being of our students. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to assess students' sensory and motor abilities and develop individualized intervention plans tailored to their needs. Your main responsibilities will be collaborating with teachers to provide primarily push-in services within the classrooms making sure all students have the ability to access our curriculum.
